The Office of Child Development and Mental Health is an independent non-partisan, non-profit affiliate of the National Council of Juvenile and Family Court Judges. It was established by David Arredondo M.D. to provide consultation, technical assistance and trainings to juvenile and family court judicial officers and other professionals working with high risk children and their families.
The Tonal Connectedness Initiative is designed to promote a culturally plural model for increasing personal and collective resilience.
Currently it is focused on increasing the resilience of at-risk youth by strengthening their positive connectedness to others. The Initiative trains professionals and lay caregivers working with vulnerable youth in multiple social service sector settings to recognize, map, and cultivate connectedness for these children and their families using a methodology that increases youth engagement in their own connectedness visualization process.
